SUMMARY

Review sales inquiries for product application to select appropriate equipment and components. Calculate preliminary sizing of conveyor for proper design and operation. Prepare cost estimates for product manufacturing or projects to aid management for determining pricing. Develop and maintain standards as it relates to pricing and selection of components, including automating estimating process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop pricing structure and estimating standards as it relates to pricing and selection of components.
  • Reviews and interpret data, specifications, and drawings from sales inquiries.
  • Determines initial design and engineering for product line.
  • Designs and sizes equipment for applications.
  • Provides necessary preliminary drawing.
  • Extracts information from customers and job sites.
  • Establishes accurate pricing factors and multipliers.
  • Negotiates pricing with vendors and maintains current pricing and vendor information.
  • Provides contract support as related to an order.
  • Inspects/QC for all product lines as related to as sold.
  • Communicates with sales representatives and internal MHE functions (Contracts, Engineering, Finance, R&D, Manufacturing, Customer Support, etc.) as required, to affirm product and schedule needs in order to prepare the quotation and/or commit to customer's requirements.
  • Functions in a workplace of dignity and respect for all.

  • Reports for work on time as scheduled and ready to perform.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as assigned, or as necessary, to accomplish the department's objectives in an effective manner.

SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIRMENTS

  • Accountable for all concerns within their scope of work and has the absolute responsibility to remedy, report and/or communicate any issue to managers, supervisors, safety or environmental managers as appropriate.
  • Follows all safe work practices, watches out for fellow workers, and keeps their work area clean.
  • Ensures area remains compliant regarding hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste and universal waste.
  • The following personal protection equipment is required and must be worn while working in the manufacturing facility or customers’ facilities:
  • Company approved safety glasses or goggles
  • Company approved steel ESD toe shoes.
  • Appropriate hand protection.
  • Ear protection in designated areas.
  • Appropriate clothing.
  • Other safety equipment as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and three or more years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to use schematics, diagrams, drawings, computers, and relative test equipment.
  • LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts and problem solving such as advanced arithmetic, algebraic equations, probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Full understanding of the mechanical engineering requirements in selection criteria.
  • REASONING ABILITY: Ability to resolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE SKILLS: AutoCAD R14 or greater, Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. Accounting or mathematical models for price automation.
  • EQUIPMENT: Computer and other general office equipment. Knowledgeable of industrial applications for power, steel, cement mining and chemical.
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None required.
