The Credit Analyst/Underwriter will be responsible for analysis of Small Business Micro loan fund applications, to include spreading and analysis of financial statements, assuring eligibility with program guidelines, identifying risks, preparing credit memorandums and other documents for presentation for approval. Job roll will also include assisting with ongoing compliance review of the loan portfolio. The position will support economic development initiatives throughout Monroe County New York, specifically small and MWBE businesses.

The Credit Analyst/Underwriterwill be responsible for reviewing loan applications
and underwriting all loans in the Micro Loan Fund. They will also assist in building key relationships in the small business community and helping to ensure the Fund provides strong customer service over the long term.

Job duties include:

  • Underwrite micro business loan requests.
  • Build and improve relationships with current and potential new clients.
  • Aim to preserve clients and renew clients’ loans on timely manner.
  • Contact clients for receipt of financial statements and other required documents & information.
  • Help promote and maintain a positive company image.
  • Demonstrate ability to recognize conflict and implement positive, respectful resolutions.
  • Understand customer needs and develops plans to address them. Assist in providing technical assistance to borrowers as needed.
  • Resolve customer complaints quickly and effectively.
  • Participate in in-person activities in the community and virtual activities with members.
  • Maintain effective communication at all times with MCIDC staff, third party providers and the Borrowers.
  • Assists in the closings, fundings, and collections functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Associates Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance, required
  • Prior commercial/consumer loan experience, required
  • Ability to analyze tax returns and financial statements, required
  • Work experience in providing written analysis of financial statements to support credit approval or loan review, desirable
  • Knowledge of credit principles, desirable
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Effective customer service manner and ability to resolve questions
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a team member
  • High ethical standards including honesty, integrity, and dedication
  • Must be self-motivated, flexible and able to manage several tasks at one time.
  • Valid Driver’s license required.
  • Familiar with cities/towns in Monroe County, NY.
  • Assume other duties as needed

Pay: $53,000.00 - $59,000.00 per year
