Job description
Duties
- Works under general supervision.
- Cleans rooms, corridors, stairways and common areas.
- Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips and polishes using brooms, mops, lightweight equipment such as vacuum cleaners and lightweight floor scrubbers, waxes, and buffers.
- Provides and replenishes toiletries and room condiments. Notes condition of room and report any conditions requiring maintenance or repair.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a medical examination.
- Incumbent may be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
- Light physical effort is required such as walking on hard and carpeted surfaces with some bending, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of items and carts weighing up to 20 pounds.
Qualifications
Skill and Knowledge:
1. Ability to follow simple oral instructions and read signs.
2. Basic knowledge of common cleaning solvents, cleaning tools, and equipment.
3. Ability to use light weight power cleaning tools as described above. (No previous training or work experience is required for these tools.)
4. Capable of removing different kinds of stains from a wide variety of surfaces.
5. Ability to troubleshoot, make adjustments, and perform minor repair and maintenance of equipment.
