Job Description

Our locally owned and well established Farmers Insurance branch office in Astoria is currently seeking to hire an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual, with effective time management, and a positive attitude to join our team. As a Customer Service & Sales Representative, you will provide exceptional customer service to our current clients and new prospects, as well as work to support agency growth through new business generation.

Candidates should have customer service and professional office experience. Job duties will include scheduling appointments, processing customer payments, as well as managing communication via, email, phone, and fax. Must be able to pass state insurance license exam in time which you will study for on the job.

Salary Range: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Business results: able to meet individual performance metrics and goals.
  • Multi-tasking: able to successfully juggle multiple priorities at any given time.
  • Attention to Detail: maintain accurate and descriptive accounts of all customer interactions in agency management system.
  • Communication: possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills with customers and office team.
  • Job Knowledge: understand basic product, billing, underwriting, and processing guidelines.
  • Teamwork: accept feedback when offered and work well with others.
  • Problem Solving: able to research and identify timely solutions to customer-related concerns.

Requirements
  • Minimum one (1) year professional office experience is required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of customer service or sales experience is required.
  • Insurance industry experience highly preferred.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent telephone presence.
