We are seeking a Customs Compliance Analyst 1 to join our team at the Nissan North Americas Headquarters in Franklin, TN. This Analyst position will support the Nissan North America Customs Operations team. The team activities are fast paced, detailed and require a wide-ranging background of experience to properly support the business needs of the company.

Job Summary:
Maintains and applies up-to-date regulatory expertise to help ensure NNA is in compliance with federal regulations for all import and export trade lanes for the US. Position will provide daily operational support for data transmissions, internal and external customers and ISF matters, while recognizing potential issues to be elevated to Trade Compliance management. Identifies international trade and customs risks, plans and implements Customs operations projects. Supports accounting activities including the processing of duty payments, brokerage fees and other departmental items. Must have a working knowledge of HTS and ECCN classification. Understanding of CTPAT program, AES filings,
customs brokerage and/or international transportation fundamentals is expected.

Job functions Include but are not limited to:
Maintains and applies regulatory expertise in processing routine import and export shipments and related questions, AES filings and other specialized Customs functions.
Perform and/or assist with a wide range of Customs compliance and operational activities to ensure that NNA's imports/exports of raw material, goods, and manufactured products comply with applicable US import/export laws and regulations.
Perform and/or assist with Import/Export compliance activities, including, but not limited to CTPAT program, denied party screening, ISF processing, US Customs requests for information, internal subject matter training, and Customs broker daily management.
Update and maintain internal compliance procedures for related activities, with attention to detail with a focus on process improvement.
Assists various departments with special import related projects to ensure compliance with regulations. Analyze and apply operational and regulatory information to prepare reports for management, external service providers, and the US government.
Perform any other department related tasks as may be assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Customs Regulations, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of United States, ECCN classification and Customs clearance and/or international transportation processes.
Knowledge of Importer Security Filing and Mexican Cross Border Customs processes.
1 - 3 years of related professional experience. Experience reviewing, monitoring, and continuously improving trade compliance policies and procedures.
Ability to quickly analyze, compare, and interpret detailed and sometimes poorly defined information and make sound and accurate conclusions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with international colleagues.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, international trade, or a related discipline.
Working knowledge of ACE, including AES filing module. Proficiency in MS Office Products. Experience using Global Trade Management system is a plus.
