Summary:

We are searching for a Data Analyst for Perioperative Services. This must be someone with strong multi-tasking skills, and proficient in Excel and database management. In this position, you will provide advanced reporting and computer systems support to directors, managers, staff, and other personnel. You must be able to work independently in project-oriented tasks, in support of departmental operations, most tasks relating specifically to comprehensive computer related systems, records, and projects.

Qualifications:

Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children's unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.

  • Required H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor Degree in Health Administration or Business preferred.
  • Required 5 years related experience working with computer system.
  • Preferred 3 years experience in a healthcare environment and financial, business, and managerial experience.
  • Prior work experience with EPIC preferred.

Responsibilities:

Provides support on routine and special projects through the highly proficient use of the Hospital and Departmental information systems.
Oversees the maintenance and reporting of data.
Prepares accurate and timely status reports for management.
Assists with daily operation and reporting of Departmental computer systems.
Maintains up-to-date, accurate records of problems, upgrades, service, and other pertinent information.
Serves as a liaison between IS, Surgeons, Department Administrators, Charge Nurses, etc on computer information and reporting.
Assists Physicians, directors, Assistant Directors, and other staff members as needed on routine and special projects.
Demonstrates ability to resolve problems directly, over the telephone via a vendor, or on-site.
Assists users in resolving problems with application use.
Uses independent judgment and discretion to recognize and resolve issues, troubleshoots malfunctioning equipment/software, and uses alternate methods where available with minimal supervision.
Provides prompt and personalized service to all customers by applying the concepts outlined in Service with Heart.
Responsible for personnel training and in-services on system and maintenance.
Analyzes the impact on users and determine if additional training is required.
Works independently with minimal supervision, with self-discipline in completing routine and Special Projects. Generally, works well with others contributing to the work effort.
