DESCRIPTION

Position Summary: This position assists the Financial Standards and Parish Accounting Manager by providing timely and accurate accounts payable/receivable information, payment processing and financial data. Additionally, assists in the management and execution of the planning, prioritization and coordination of the processes and responsibilities of the department through administrative support.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of all expenses;
  • Develops and maintains filing and retrieval systems for the department;
  • Maintain Client Vendor Records;
  • Reviews all check requisitions, invoices or reimbursements for proper authorization, documentation, account designation and sales tax exemption status;
  • Prepares and inputs all documents for payment;
  • Other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written;
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines;
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment;
  • Extensive knowledge of office administration, clerical procedures, and record keeping systems;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Roman Catholic Church, its structure and the ministries within the Offices of the Catholic Center;
  • Ability to exercise discretion, good judgment and initiative;
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite and with the ability to learn new or updated software;
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision;
  • Diplomatic, tactful and discreet especially when dealing with confidential matters;
  • Ability to work in collaboration with others;
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Job Qualifications: (Education and Experience):

  • High School diploma;
  • Two to four years’ Administrative experience - ParishSOFT a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
