This job will involve designing Fiber and Coax routes over existing, new build projects, creating fiber splice documents, using as-built information, Spatial, AutoCAD, Lode DATA, Excel, among other software. The individual will be skilled in AutoCAD, Excel, design software. (HFC) design and the understanding of OSP construction and engineering. We are seeking an experienced Outside Plant Fiber & Coax Designer in the broadband HFC industry. This job will involve designing over existing and new build plant, creating fiber splice documents, using as-built information, Spatial data and Excel data among other software. The individual will be skilled in OSP Hybrid Fiber-Coax (HFC) design with an understanding of OSP construction and engineering, will also create BOM.
This job will pay piece rate per job completed with some additional travel pay or reimbursement. The following skills are required:
Job Qualifications:
- Experience with AutoCAD – (Freezing/unfreezing layers, Creating PDFs from Auto CAD, Knowing simple Auto CAD Commands)
- Using PDF Editor
- Basic Telecom knowledge (can provide on-the-job training)
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and CAD drawings
- Data/File Management
- Microsoft Office / Outlook
- Attention to detail and excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Candidate will need to pass a background/drug screen
- Will also need transportation to work and some occasional meetings and or outings. Experience is a must within the required skill set.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop ISP Patch panel diagrams/cable rack layouts
- Design and develop layouts for OSP and ISP Fiber design
- Generation of bills of materials, splice sheets, and other supporting documentation for design.
- Review completed design for errors and efficiency.
- Ensure design specifications are maintained.
- Adhere to appropriate quality standards set out in the design requirements
- Create and maintain appropriate technical documentation
- Supports Specialists and leadership team with fiber design documents.
- Reviews, resolves and follows-up on request and complaints.
- May advise, train, and guide other designers.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
