Our residents live in small group homes or apartment settings which allow for individualized attention and support. We are looking for a Direct Support Supervisor (DSS) to join our Waukesha Management team. A DSS provides direct supervision for our clients and assigned caregivers within one of our programs. Responsibilities Include:

• Performance management of employees
• Implementation of company policies and procedures
• Maintaining excellent communication with guardians/case workers/management and overall health monitoring of clients
• Assistance with client's daily living activities, transportation, cooking, and cleaning
• Assistance with personal cares as needed
• Empowering the use of their own coping skills and making healthy decisions
• Supporting functional social and community skills, recreational activities and redirection of challenging behaviors.

Additional Core Responsibilities:

• Responding to strong verbal and physical behaviors, property destruction, or elopement with clients
• Report allegations of abuse, resident rights violations, conflict of interest, harassment, or fraud to management
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality
• Exercise sound personal judgment

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 18 years of age
• Demonstrated passion, accountability, & teamwork
• Valid Driver’s License with at least 3 years of clean driving record
• Two (2) years of experience providing community based residential support services in a long term community-based care setting
• Demonstrated experience mentoring and motivating staff
• Successful completion of a caregiver background check, TB test and Health Screen

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Waukesha, WI 53188: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Caregiving: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Wisconsin Driver's License (Required)

• Overnight Shift (Preferred)
