Job Summary

The Director of Campus Recruiting for Talent Sourcing and Engagement Strategy provides strategic direction and enterprise shared solutions for the identification, engagement, and development of diverse and skilled student pipeline to the company. This role will design and implement the future-state early career talent acquisition model to include go to market campaigns, targeted sourcing, early-identification programs, external diversity partnerships, and employee volunteer training. In addition, the Director will also oversee the multi-year candidate journey and experience, including various entry points for prospects and leads, engagement and education of candidates, with the goal of converting top prospects to applicants and hires.
The Director will maximize technology platforms and service providers (e.g. Handshake, Yello, Workday, etc.) and develop performance metrics to ensure project timelines and service level agreements are met. He/she will contribute to the Workday implementation effort, particularly in the areas that impact Campus Recruiting and Talent Acquisition. This role will have primary responsibility for confirming and adjusting the recruiting process and strategy prior to each recruiting season, including sourcing strategies (target universities, national conferences, and external partnership), communication and employer branding, and timelines and employee participation.
The Director builds and maintains relationships with members of the campus recruiting and broader talent acquisition team, as well as business stakeholders and partners, including HR, marketing, compensation, benefits, technology, and external vendors and service providers. This role will have significant exposure to senior leaders to set expectations, influence decisions, secure commitments, and drive organizational change that will yield enhanced recruiting results (quality, diversity, volume) and outstanding client and candidate experiences.
Reporting to the VP of Campus Recruiting, the Director will be a senior leader with frequent opportunities to interface with executives and management, including presentations to HR and business leaders on the overall progress of diversity sourcing, employer brand management, campus recruiting programs, and additional collaboration opportunities across Raymond James. Using his/her professional network, this role will stay abreast of current trends with competitors and across other industries to identify enhancement opportunities for Raymond James.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Drive end-to-end transformation of the campus recruiting process, governance, and engagement across all business units
  • Supervise and train talent advisors to manage the full campus recruiting cycle with a focus on candidate tracking, development, and hiring
  • Identifies, trains, and manages current employees across the enterprise who will serve as campus representatives, presenters, interviewers, and other volunteer roles
  • Manages relationships and collaboration with key influencers including our Marketing, Corporate Communications, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion, ESG, Public Relations and Legal and Risk teams
  • Manages processes to ensure legal and corporate compliance and minimize risk and inefficiencies for the company
  • Identify gaps and issues and maintain a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Key metrics for this role include definable quality of hire, strong conversion to hire, increased operational efficiency, process optimization, and high satisfaction from candidates, recruiters, client and HR partners
  • Assists in multi-year change management and influences stakeholders on timelines, protocols, risk management, and benefits of proposed solutions
  • Maintains strong working relationships with business clients and HR counterparts; keeps them informed and appropriately involves them in recruiting activities

  • Develop and lead strategies to identify and develop diverse, skilled student talent by working with Talent Advisors, HRBPs, and Talent Consultants to understand talent demand and ideal candidate profiles by business unit
  • Own the campus candidate development process, including: defining candidate identification and attraction strategy, leveraging EVP content, developing target audience appropriate messaging architecture, creating scalable and repeatable processes, and achieving measurable outcomes
  • Expand our ability to attract, engage, and educate underrepresented populations, including our early identification programs
  • Serve as a subject matter expert with diverse student populations and college recruiting processes and programs
  • Manage budgets and ensure a strong return on investment/effort for on-campus and national conference/partnership activities
  • Candidate Engagement and Development
  • Deliver a best-in-class candidate experience, ensuring clear expectations and timeliness in communication, information sharing, and follow up
  • Create and execute an end-to-end candidate communication plan from initial awareness to offer acceptance, including keep warm strategies through new hire induction; this includes communications from recruiting software platforms, messaging campaigns, internal and external newsletters, campus events, etc.
  • Develops a multi-year and multi-pronged engagement strategy from various entry points into the candidate journey through to onboarding as a new hire
  • Increases candidate consideration and desire to pursue career opportunities with Raymond James through virtual and in-person events and messaging
  • Establish and develop outstanding relationships with key stakeholders, internal partners, university administration, and service providers/resources

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of
  • Campus recruiting processes, university and higher education administration, and university student development
  • Attraction and engagement with university students, particularly underrepresented and first generation students
  • University recruiting landscape, including competitor insights and developing trends and issues impacting the profession
  • Talent acquisition/HR processes and human capital/talent technology systems
  • Employment law, legal requirements, and federal and state regulations related to employment, including DOL, EEOC, and OFCCP regulations
  • Hiring practices, including corporate recruiting policy and procedures
  • Tracking processes and reporting for applicants and open positions, and metrics
  • Candidate engagement, communication, assessment, and employment practices and techniques
  • Project management and process standardization (e.g. LEAN, OKR, etc.)
  • MS Office applications, experience in Event Management, Sourcing, Candidate Relationship Management, and Applicant Tracking Systems (e.g. Workday, Taleo, iCIMS, Yello, Ripplematch, Avature, Phenom, etc.)

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
Education/Previous Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of ten (10) years campus recruiting and change management experience, including experience in a high volume and financial or professional services experience,
  • six (6) years of team management and development experience,
  • four (4) years of process development and employee development experience,
  • and proven track record of rebuilding a campus recruiting program, including direct and indirect management of team members and employee volunteers,
  • OR ~
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, or experience approved by human resources.
