Possess current/valid Ohio Principal and/or Superintendent license.Alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate Essential Functions: Serve as Chief Academic Officer (CAO) of the school district reporting directly to the Superintendent & CEO.Recommend, coordinate and evaluate district wide programs and projects impacting curriculum, instructional and assessment (CIA)Coordinate the development of curriculum and instructional programs including courses of study, course sequence, curriculum mapping, and instructional materials selection and adoptions in all curricular areas with a focus on aligning the curriculum and instructional materials with applicable state and national standards.Provide teachers with counsel and assistance regarding solutions to instructional problemsDevelop an annual budget for CIA activities and services in conjunction with the Treasurer & CFO and Technology Director Provide timely and regular analysis of student achievement dataOversee District Testing for State/Local AssessmentsCoordinate the District Leadership Team through the Ohio Improvement ProcessServe as consultant to the Building Leadership Teams and Teacher Led TeamsAssist the Superintendent & CEO: -Act as chief policy advisor on CIA matters-Serve on the Superintendents Cabinet and lead discussions on CIA matters-Seek and prepare grant applications applicable to the districts goals-Coordinate the CCIP process related to federal grants, the Decision Framework and Ohio Improvement Process. Responsible for application, administration and reporting required by federal grant programs.-Complete and submit local, state and nationally required reports -Attend meetings representing the district as directed-Prepare and present reports to the Board of Education-Carry out other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Superintendent Other Duties and Responsibilities: Keep abreast of developments in curriculum and furnish leadership in determining their appropriateness for inclusion in the districts educational programMaintain liaison and active participation with educational leaders in curriculum at the state, regional, and national levelsCommunicate with the public, the Board of Education and staff on school improvement effortsAssist in the reporting of testing and curriculum information through EMISMake contacts with stakeholders, representatives of other school districts and vendors with tact and diplomacyMaintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., test scores, student/personnel informationInteract in a positive manner with staff, students and parentsPromote good public relations by personal appearance, attitude and conversationProvide information for posting on the school districts websiteRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Ability to work effectively with othersAbility to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in writingEffective, active listening skillsOrganizational and problem solving skillsTechnical writing skillsKnowledge of and experience in grant writing, funding sources, instructional strategies, state/legal requirements relating to instruction and program reportingMust be able to maintain a district wide vision for curriculum, instruction and assessment.
