Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000 DOE Qualifications:
The Director designs, implements, and partners on Milbank’s global diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives in support of the Firm’s overall strategy.
Reporting to the Chief DEI Officer, this person will collaborate on key programs aligned to talent enablement, recruitment, retention, and growth.
This person will work closely across all functional areas of the Firm including with Human Resources, Professional Development, Recruitment, Finance, Marketing, Business Development, and Technologies.

- Provide thought leadership on Firm and client DEI matters
- Lead strategy, development, and implementation of bespoke DEI team initiatives in concert with the global team
- Coach, grow, and empower DEI team members to thrive in their roles
- Co-create Firm-wide, and targeted training programs that drive inclusion and belonging
- Project manage complex, global initiatives
- Elevate and guide our Affinity group (ERG) function
- Evolve key success metrics
- Serve as a key contributor on surveys, client requests, RFPs, and select proactive submissions
- Evolve third party relationship and budget management for the Firm’s sponsorships, social impact partnerships, specialty bar associations, and team spend
- Serve as a resource for diverse associates, women associates, and diverse business professionals
- Partner with practice group leaders and Partner committees on various initiatives
- Collaborate with marketing and Business Development to maximize awareness of the Firm’s DEI initiatives and successes
- Other responsibilities as they are assigned from time to time
Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000 DOE Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of DEI work experience including at least 2 years within a law firm
- A proven track record of creating long-lasting cultural change through the delivery of effective DEI initiatives
- People leadership, cultural humility, and a genuine interest in colleague engagement and belonging
- Complex, global project management experience
- Experience partnering with affinity groups/ERGs/BRGs
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the confidence and ability to influence at all levels, and sustain effective working relationships
- Adept at strategy development and program delivery
- Keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication (written and oral) skills, coupled with the ability to listen
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to leverage data and insights to tell a story using PowerPoint or other communication methods
- Comfortable with change, eager to innovate and resolve problems
- Team player, with a commitment to delivering excellent consultative and advisory service to colleagues
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting a diverse and inclusive workplace
- Bachelor’s Degree, JD a plus
