The Medical Surgical service line consists of all medical surgical nursing services including Porter Med/Surg, Oncology/Palliative Care, Surigcal/Bariatric, Healthplex Medical Surgical Observation, Ortho/Spine and system Vascular Access Specialist Team and Inpatient Wound Care.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the oversight of all medical surgical nursing services.
- Directs four department managers with multiple disciplines in each.
- This position coordinates activities between the system healers and system leadership with Hospitalists, Specialists and other providers.
- Responsible for ensuring a high standard of care.
- Demonstrates a commitment to excellence.
- Develops positive professional relationships with providers and intra-departmental peers.
- Responsible for planning, implementing, directing, monitoring and promoting service initiatives.
- Responsible for leading strategic and business planning initiatives, formulating budgets, developing and implementing promotional efforts.
EDUCATION
BSN required.- Master's Degree required or actively working on Master's Degree in a field relative to the position.
EXPERIENCE
- Five years experience in area of expertise including a minimum of 3 years experience in upper level management in a medium to large healthcare facility.

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION
- Current Oklahoma nursing license as a registered nurse.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Proficiency in microsoft office, business planning, strategic planning, evidence-based practice , budgeting, productivity required, thorough understanding of all healthcare regulatory and compliance measures related to medical surgical hospital based services.
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills with the ability to positively influence and effectively lead others.
- Must be able to show a history of implementing successful quality improvement and efficiency improvement initiatives.
COMPENSATION
- Hourly rate depending on previous work experience.
