THE ROLE:
SEMI, the global association for the electronics design and manufacturing supply chain, is launching SEMI University, a new portal for education and training in the $500B+ semiconductor industry. Serving the needs of 2500+ members worldwide, SEMI U provides a diverse curriculum designed to advance the industry’s capability. SEMI is seeking a strong content curator and education enthusiast to advance the growth and reach of SEMI U.
SEMI is seeking a full-time Education & Content Manager for this new and exciting member benefit. This role will be responsible for securing relevant content and building a business and technical education curriculum. The Content Manager will report to the Director – SEMI University and will be based in Milpitas, CA.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Engage with SEMI’s regional teams and SEMI member company representatives to identify and evaluate potential educational and training content
- Evaluate and obtain original content and 3rd party content to populate the SEMI U LMS:
Assure content is SCORM compatible and is acquired with proper ownership/copyrights
- Manage content deliverables from SEMI regions and 3rd party partners, keeping track of timelines, pricing, and publishing details
- Create and execute strategies and business plans to scale SEMI U’s reach, expand its curriculum, and drive profitable revenue growth
- Prepare reports and analyses for executive management demonstrating the breadth, effectiveness and continued portfolio growth of SEMI U
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
- You are constantly expanding SEMI U’s curriculum to meet the needs of the global semiconductor industry:
- You've built relationships across SEMI regions and with SEMI members to secure valued business and technical content for SEMI’s LMS
- You are investigating, analyzing, and recommending original content from SEMI programs and events, and managing the process for potential addition to SEMI U’s LMS
- You are researching 3rd party content for suitability and inclusion in SEMI U, and initiating and managing win-win relationships with content providers
- SEMI U’s user base is continuously growing
CRITICAL SKILLS:
- Demonstrated project management experience of digital platforms
- Expertise with on-line curriculum development, including SCORM standards
- Advanced writing and editing skills
- Detailed understanding of social media marketing and SEO
- Familiarity with e-commerce operations
- Strong communications, negotiations, and presentation skills
- Internal and external customer service orientation
- Meeting facilitation and event coordination skills
- Language skills beyond English will be considered a plus, especially Chinese, Japanese and Korean languages
KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years+ experience managing technical education content in a company or association setting; semiconductor industry preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Marketing, Education or a STEM field
- Excellent software skills in Microsoft Office, e-learning tools, and learning management systems
- Solid understanding of semiconductor industry basics
- Expertise in project tracking utilizing project management tools
- A work history of increasing responsibility and competence, meeting deadlines with a solutions-oriented mindset
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-culturally
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
The ideal candidate is passionate about education and will have significant experience in obtaining technical educational and training materials for e-learning platforms. With a solid understanding of semiconductor industry education and training requirements, the candidate will have succeeded in populating an LMS platform in an association or company setting. The candidate will possess superb project management skills and be able to work effectively in a fast paced, cross-cultural setting.
