The Eugene Water & Electric Board is currently seeking to fill an Engineering Associate (I, II, or III) position within Generation Engineering. The position will perform engineering and project management functions in all aspects of hydroelectric energy production for the EWEB power portfolio. The Engineering Associate will perform basic engineering design and analysis for projects under the direction and supervision of more senior engineers and department management.
Engineers in this role will have the opportunity to inform standards, documentation and the project management processes. Depending on your career goals and EWEB’s needs, opportunities exist to develop into a technical expert or gain a more broad-based set of skills based on your interests.
The ideal candidate can:
- Develop and implement the scope, schedule and budget for basic projects
- Oversee and monitor project activities from concept to close out
- Communicate project progress to internal clients, supervisor and management
- Prepare cost estimates and maintain project records
- Write technical procurement and construction specifications
- Prepare material and/or labor bid document packages
- Inspect fabrication and construction activities, materials, work projects and troubleshoot construction problems
- Ensure compliance procedures to maintain the quality of project deliverables.

The starting salary for this position varies depending on the level, commensurate with knowledge, skills, education, and experience as it relates to the position:
Engineering Associate I: $63,462.49 - $79,328.12
Engineering Associate II: $73,468.32 - $91,835.52
Engineering Associate III: $85,141.71 – $106,427.20
Minimum Training and Experience Required:
Engineering Associate I: No experience required.
Engineering Associate II: Requires three (3) years’ experience and a working knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of engineering, project management and construction.
Engineering Associate III: Requires seven (7) years’ experience.
Education: Requires a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or equivalent field.
Required training and certification: possession of a state of Oregon certificate of enrollment as an Engineering intern, equivalent certification from another state board, or ability to obtain within six-months.
