Overview:
TITLE: ENGINEERING REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN
LOCATION: ARVIN, CA
COMPENSATION: $20.00 - $30.00 / HOUR

PURPOSE:

Entry level engineering position as part of team responsible for design, development, implementation, and analysis of industrial systems, with a general focus on refrigeration & HVAC.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION
:
  • Aid in the design and modification of new and existing systems, troubleshoot existing systems and recommend solutions, heat load estimation, piping design, equipment sizing and selection.
  • Frequent field visits to take dimensions and check equipment and piping.
  • Works with HVACR technicians and outside contractors and coordinates with other trades to complete projects.
  • Create/revise system documentation such as equipment lists, valve tag lists, P&IDs and schematics.
  • Develop knowledge of and aid in system compliance with various county, state, and federal regulations.
  • Develop skill in technical writing, creating project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.
  • Works under immediate supervision and reports to Director of Technical Support Operations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to use hands for working with a computer keyboard and mouse in front of a computer monitor for long periods.Must be able to remain in a stationary position and move about inside office, food processing facilities and fields in both even and uneven surfaces. Must be able to work in wet and cold environment. Must be able to work in different temperatures (working temperatures as hot as 100° to 105° F and as cold as 32° to 45° F). Must be able to work in a high noise area.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have college degree or previous experience.
  • Must have experience with Windows operating system and PC applications such as Word, and Excel.
  • AutoCad or other design software experience preferred.
  • Must have general knowledge of engineering principals, physics, and mechanics.
  • Math proficiency of calculus or higher.
  • Willingness to learn new systems and procedures.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally both local and out of state.
  • Remote work not available for this position.
  • Must be able to read and understand written information in English.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV driving record.
  • Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen
