General Summary:
Repair and provide all required preventive maintenance on all equipment associated with Course Maintenance Department.
Responsibilities and Duties:

- Primary Duties
- Repair, maintain, and service all equipment relevant to the management of the golf courses and grounds in the Agronomy department
- Order, receive, and track all parts and supply needs to maintain the fleet of equipment including but not limited to: reel mowers, rotary mowers, utility vehicles, small engine equipment, golf carts, tractors, trucks, aerification equipment, forklifts, and rollers.
- Ensure quality of cut of all mowing equipment each day
- Manage, direct, supervise, and coordinate tasks with the assistant mechanic and other departmental management personnel.
- Organize, manage, and maintain the Turf facility building and corresponding grounds
Skills and Abilities Required:
- Willingness to learn and adapt to varied and added responsibilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive attitude, ability to work well with others, and a talent to prioritize effectively
- Ability to work overtime when needed, usually revolving around tournaments and major turf cultural practices.
Certification/Education and Experience:
- Multiple years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in a golf course maintenance setting
- Ability to grind, sharpen, and set up reel mowers
- Experience diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, and both gas and diesel engine systems
- Valid driver’s license
Working Condition:
- There is a potential for stressful situations and for long hours.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
- Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires the ability to safely lift bend, climb, stoop, and pull.
- Frequently lift and move objects weighing 50 lbs. or more.
