Job Summary

Serve as Equipment Technician working in the Bluefin New Iberia Service Division, service shop and yard. Responsible for execution of tasks as assigned by the Shop Foreman, Lead Equipment Technician or other Management. Is operationally qualified, verified, and authorized as required for specific tasks. May lead limited scope projects in the absence of a Shop Foreman or Lead Service Technician with prior approval from and under the direction of the Shop Foreman or Lead Service Technician. Specific job tasks would include but not be limited to coordination of equipment (Bluefin owned & 3rd party), load/ unload trucks, manage manifest, maintain job boxes, maintain other equipment for Bluefin Service Department jobs. Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair service division equipment and machinery (Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Pumps, Hoses, and any other equipment) used by the service division. The Equipment Technician will conduct all activities in an accountable, respectful, and professional manner at all times and fully support the completion of work in accordance with BlueFin quality and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work daily with Shop Foreman, Lead Equipment Technicians, Field Service Technicians, Operations Managers, and maintain communication all day long.
  • Ensure all job manifests are completed prior to mobilization and on return of jobs.
  • Stock job boxes with necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure shelves are stocked with working and green tagged equipment.
  • Lead or assist in service department project pulling, staging, and loading/ unloading of equipment.
  • Lead or assist service division project return and maintenance of all equipment.
  • Complete all required paperwork regarding service division jobs pre/ post jobs.
  • Available for weekend and after hours work when on call or as needed.
  • Maintain a line of communication with the Shop Foreman and Lead Equipment Technician on equipment needs.
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area.
  • Have the ability to learn to repair and operate high cfm air compressors, triplex pumps, centrifugal pumps, desiccant dryers, torque equipment, portable lathe field machines etc.
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
  • Perform preventative/ predictive maintenance and repairs on all equipment.
  • Follow equipment repair procedures and equipment checklist procedures.
  • Understand how equipment operates and understand government and customer requirements.
  • Manage multiple tasks.

Experience and Education

  • High School Diploma or GED at minimum
  • Basic computer skills preferred (Microsoft programs)
  • 1-3 years of equipment maintenance and repair- related experience
  • Knowledge of and ability to learn to repair and operate diesel driven triplex pumps, air compressors, desiccant dryers, torque pumps/wrenches, centrifugal pumps, portable lathe field machines
  • Clean Driving Record

Physical Requirements

  • Shop setting mainly / Field as needed
  • Perform physical labor in hot, cold, and demanding environments
  • Travel up to 100% through United States and Gulf of Mexico; staying overnight for extended periods
  • Fit for duty exam required
