The Edison Security Operations Center (ESOC) is a 24/7 operations center tasked with monitoring security systems throughout the SCE territory. The ESOC receives and responds to thousands of alarms and handles hundreds of phone calls daily. Security Specialists assigned to the ESOC are expected to:

  • Be first line support on a multitude of security related incidents

  • Serve and partner with key business units throughout SCE

  • Provide oversight and make key decisions for security operations

  • Provide detailed real-time reporting on incidents

  • Provide world-class customer service to stakeholders

Qualifications


The essentials

  • Three years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or related field.

  • Experience working in a command and control/security operations center environment

  • Experience using security software (i.e. CCTV, access control, emergency notification systems)

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

The preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, criminal justice, or a related field

  • ASIS CPP or PSP certification

  • PMP certification

  • Team lead or supervisory experience

You should know

  • This position’s work mode is on-site. The employee will report to an SCE facility or in the field location. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.

  • The primary work location for this position is Irwindale, California. However, the successful candidate may also be asked to work for an extended amount of time in Rosemead or Irvine, CA.

  • Position may require up to 10% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.

  • This position works a rotating schedule, rotating between day, swing, and night shifts.

  • Relocation does not apply to this position.

  • This position requires testing and applicants who are identified to continue through the selection process will be invited to test via email. Candidates who have previously passed these assessment(s), in some cases, may not need to retest again for this position.
