What is the ETF Distribution group responsible for?
Dating back to the 1940s, Franklin Templeton has been synonymous with best-in-class client solutions. As our clients’ needs evolve, so do our product offerings – leading to our first ETF launch in 2013. The burgeoning ETF business quickly expanded, becoming a stand-alone Division in 2016. Now, a global effort managing >$14B in client assets, we offer more than 90 ETFs spanning active, passive, ESG and thematic investing.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of the ETF Specialist role?

Primary goal of this function is to generate and retain assets within Franklin Templeton’s (FT) ETF product suite. The ETF specialist will accomplish this goal by partnering with U.S. based distribution channels to complement their existing efforts, while directly engaging with RIA and institutional buyers that primarily use ETFs.
This position requires a background in the ETF space, with a high level of knowledge around capital markets, factor investing and asset allocation. Additional responsibilities will include ongoing interaction with FT senior management, as well as building and maintaining productive relationships with other FT distribution and supporting organizations.
You will be primarily responsible for:
  • Managing a territory to generate sales and revenue to meet objectives
  • Managing and cultivating key relationships with wealth management clients, positioning FT’s ETF lineup through those contacts
  • Educating, training and interacting with other distribution areas and partners within Franklin Templeton to enhance awareness of the ETF offerings and developments
  • Maintaining knowledge of industry related topics, proficiency in delivering value-added presentations to a broad array of audiences
  • Updating activity in CRM and working with Sales Management on tactical initiatives and projects
What ideal qualifications would help someone to be successful?
We look for:
  • 5+ years of experience in a client-facing role within the investment industry
  • 3+ years of ETF-related experience within either a sales, product, or investment role
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA and/or CFA preferred
  • FINRA Series 7 & 63 licenses
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-driven with ability to balance key internal and external relationships
  • Experience developing and implementing sales and marketing business plans
  • Strong investment acumen and background
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Comfortable with extensive travel (>50%)

There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $100,000-$150,000.
