Excavation/Utilities/Bridge SUPERINTENDENT
Job Summary
The Superintendent is responsible for meeting production goals by effectively managing equipment and maintaining safety standards. Assists project management in the supervision of foremen, subcontractors and skilled trade workers responsible for excavation and subgrade preparation of soil based materials on a heavy construction project.
Essential Functions
- Track Pay measurement and quantities for payment.
- Manage and direct multiple foremen, equipment, and subcontractors to meet production goals and ensure operation is safe.
- Create work plans, 3-week schedules, reports and supervise crews daily.
- Submit all job paperwork on a weekly basis and keep a daily log on job activity.
- Manages critical project information and ensures all information is communicated in a timely manner to operations personnel.
- Adherence to labor and production schedules to ensure that projects are built on time and within or better than budget.
- Complete electronic daily reports accurately detailing employee and equipment hours, completed quantities, accidents, and other activities onsite.
- Must be able to survey, layout and identify changes in contracts.
- Know plans and specifications well enough to teach and train others.
- Ensure work is completed in a quality manner according to QA/QC specifications, minimizing call back work, injuries or vandalism
Required Skills & Experience
- 3-5 years’ previous superintendent experience in DOT -heavy highway, road and bridge construction
- Medium to large heavy highway, road and bridge project experience ($10M+) is required
- Experience in Damstra Timecard a plus
- Must be capable, licensed, and approved to drive a company pick-up truck or similar vehicle to work sites, offices, and other locations as required to perform job duties
- Have experience/knowledge of working around existing utilities / utility locates
- Be able to identify changes in scope
- Survey knowledge and exposure to technical survey systems such as GPS and robotics
- Effective earthwork equipment utilization. Earthwork equipment operating knowledge and possess the ability to train employees.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $133,975.12 per year
