Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Executive Director to lead our non-profit library organization as it expands physically and programmatically.
As the leader, the Executive Director will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to ensure the library achieves its mission of providing accessible resources and educational opportunities to the community. This individual will oversee all aspects of non-profit operations, including fundraising, program development, community outreach, financial management, and staff management.
As a gateway to Yellowstone National Park, Big Sky has grown into a community representing a vibrant cross section of people seeking an exceptional quality of life. The Big Sky Library has grown along with it, becoming an essential resource and community gathering space.
Responsibilities Include:
● Develop and implement strategies to achieve the library's mission and goals.
● Lead and manage all aspects of non-profit operations, including fundraising, program development, community outreach, financial management, and staff management.
● Ensure the library remains relevant to the community it serves by developing and implementing innovative programs and services.
● Develop and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, including government officials, donors, volunteers, and patrons.
● Manage the library's budget and financial resources to ensure the organization remains financially stable and sustainable.
● Recruit, hire, train, and manage staff to ensure the library has a talented and motivated team.
● Oversee the library's collection development to ensure it meets the needs and interests of the community.
● Work with the Board of Directors to develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure the library operates ethically and efficiently.
● Serve as the library's public face, representing the organization at community events, public meetings, and media appearances.
Requirements:
● Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Non-profit Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
● 5+ years of leadership experience in a non-profit organization or library setting.
● Proven track record of successful fundraising, program development, and community outreach.
● Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and financial analysis.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
● Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
● Knowledge of library trends, technologies, and best practices.
● Commitment to the library's mission of providing accessible resources and educational opportunities to the community.
● Passion for promoting literacy, learning, and cultural enrichment.

Pay: $105,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
