Overview:
CAES Missiles Systems in San Jose, CA is looking for a Facilities Technician that will provide key support for all areas of operations to ensure that the building and facilities operate at peak efficiency.
Our site has complicated systems that will require safe operation and maintained to support production include LN2, Air handlers, Boiler, Furnaces, HVAC, Emergency Generator, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Humidification, CDA, Vacuum, RO/DI, and an AWN system.
This person will be required to maintain the health of our systems by monitoring the water, chemical, fuel, temperatures (equipment and buildings), vacuum, pumps, compressors and any other components needing monitoring.
They may conduct startups, monitor, do minor repairs, and shut down equipment as needed but usually will be working with approved PM vendors. Will be required to communicate with production management for proper scheduling of these actions if they affect production.
This person should be familiar with small onsite repairs to electrical, lighting, pumps, motor’s and other tasks.
This person will report directly to the Facilities Manager and work closely with other managers or supervisors to lessen downtime and impact to production.
Responsibilities:
  • Work with in-house created Facility Ticket System to track customer requests
  • Quick, minor repairs may be required to maintain flow of production until a Vendor is called for permanent fix
  • Servicing, troubleshooting, minor repairs, and monitoring site systems
  • Conducting Preventative Maintenance (PM) on equipment and smaller systems
  • Managing PM services on main systems with outside vendors
  • Purchasing materials or equipment while fulfilling budget requirements when ordering supplies, and keeping stock of necessary inventory for back-up equipment and tools
Qualifications:
Minimum:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3+ years’ experience in building maintenance
  • 3+ years’ experience with vendor management
  • 2+ years’ experience in construction
  • Able to lift/ push/ pull up to 50 lbs. and perform a variety of physical duties on a regular basis
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing systems
  • 2+ years’ experience in using Microsoft suite
  • Forklift Operator or ability to obtain forklift certification
  • Experience with SAP or similar system to track vendors
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD design systems
  • Experience working with chemical waste
Salary Range: $28.50 - $46.00 an hour. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
