This position is located in Hilo, Hawai'i. The East Hawaii Region (EHR) of Hawaii Health Systems Corporation includes Hilo Medical Center, Ka’u Hospital, Hale Ho’ola Hamakua, Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home and the network of primary and specialty clinics within the East Hawaii Health Clinics. The Big Island of Hawai'i offers amazing rainforests, waterfalls and beaches. The hospital staff is community-oriented and strive to provide competent and compassionate care to every patient that enters our doors. It is home to the Hawaii Community College, University of Hawaii, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, excellent schools and convenient shopping.

SUMMARY:
We aim to continue the growth of the first and only residency on the Island. Open since 2014, we have recently expanded to 6-6-6. As an unopposed program, we serve a highly diverse, interesting, and rewarding patient population. Exemplifying interdisciplinary care, our clinic partners with faculty and trainees from pharmacy, behavioral health and advanced practice nursing. Additionally, we train learners from both Hilo and O`ahu-based training programs, including medical students from the John A. Burns School of Medicine and A.T. Still University. We are one of only twenty-eight programs offering Lifestyle Medicine Curriculum and board eligibility. To adequately prepare our graduates to practice, all faculty candidates should practice full-spectrum family medicine, including inpatient care of children and adults.

This position is full-time and comes with a great benefits package including medical, dental and vision for you and your dependents, 20 days PTO, and 5 days CME.

This position requires Experience in Family Medicine with Obstetrics preferred, POCUS training preferred. Candidates must be board-certified in Family Medicine and have either teaching experience or faculty development fellowship training.

LICENSURE:

Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii.
