JOB SUMMARY
This position, under the direction of the Project Director, is responsible for the guidance and management of the Outreach, Engagement and Recruitment team for the Regional Partnership Grant (RPG). This individual will lead a team consisting of up to 6 Peer Recovery Coaches (PRCs) in providing crisis intervention, assessment, and coordination of care (including Medical Care, MAT, Inpatient & Outpatient care as well as long term aftercare) for pregnant and/or parenting women who use substances.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Program Director in successful completion of Planning and Implementation Phases of the RPG.
- Develop a network of agency contacts who serve women and educate them about VOASELA s services and the Family Focused Recovery (FFR) Program offerings and ability of Outreach and Engagement team to provide trauma-informed Care Coordination and Case Management for pregnant and/or parenting women who are using substances.
- Provide onsite assessments at Juvenile, Drug and other Court settings, Child Welfare agencies, Health Clinics, Physician offices and other agencies.
- Upon admission to VOASELA s FFR Program, conduct required assessments and screening instruments with the woman and her child(ren) as need dictates by accreditation and funding requirements.
- Develops in concert with Project Director, nurses, and consulting physicians a comprehensive treatment plan in partnership with the woman served based on a thorough review of assessment information and all relevant data.
- Provide direct counseling and crisis intervention services to women served as needed.
- Facilitate the implementation, development, and ongoing review of the treatment plan. Ensure the delivery of individual counseling and support, as well as the coordination and monitoring of appropriate referrals to additional specialized services as needed.
- Provide supervision and consultation to the PRCs to assure they are successfully performing the roles and duties assigned in the treatment plan and as required by accreditation and funding sources.
- Maintain accurate and complete cases files. Record information in VOASELA s Electronic Health System in a timely manner. Assure accurate and timely data entry is completed by subordinate staff to ensure compliance with accreditation and funding requirements.
- Keep current in the arena of substance abuse and treatment information, specifically trends in opioid maintenance treatment and harm reduction.
- Provide education and support to staff on critical issues of harm reduction, withdrawal management services, opioid agonist therapy, and risk management practices for opioid use.
- Collaborates with community partners regarding care, opioid education and case management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
This position requires knowledge, skills and abilities equivalent to:
- Required: Master s Degree in social work or counseling and Louisiana licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).
- Organizational, planning, work management and prioritizing skills.
- Problem solving ability, attention to detail, accuracy, flexibility, and reliability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, computer skills, proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Ability to interact with staff (all levels) in a respectful manner, remaining flexible, proactive, and task oriented and be well organized and attention to details.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Required: At least 2-3 years of experience working with women experiencing substance use disorders.
- Required: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Required: Willingness and ability to obtain Peer Support Specialist Supervisor certification and/or training.
- Required: Familiarity with trauma-informed and culturally sensitive practices. Dedication to creation of a racially equitable continuum of care for pregnant and/or parenting women who use substances.
- Extensive knowledge of the substance use disorder continuum of care available in Greater New Orleans area.
- Experience within Electronic Health Systems.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and CFR 42 Part 2.
- Must be able to successfully pass background check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is primarily performed in a normal office environment generally while seated at a desk. Dexterity is required to performing work with personal computer keyboard, calculator and other office equipment.
Incumbent s work will be performed at various locations in the community where services are provided to consumers. Incumbent should be a vehicle operator with the ability to travel within the Greater New Orleans area frequently and the outlying nine parish region semi-frequently.
