Reliance Crane & Hoist Inc. is a material handling company specializing in the supply and maintenance of overhead cranes, hoists and fall protection systems. SUMMARY OF POSITION

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join our growing team in Chambersburg, PA. Primary responsibilities include repairing plant equipment, preventative maintenance activities, equipment inspections, and performing other related duties. Electrical and overhead crane experience is preferred. Our Service Technicians work at various facilities located throughout central PA, the company will provide transportation. Normal work hours will be from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Plenty of opportunity for Overtime thru on call services and weekends to assist with equipment break downs and planned outages.

Successful candidates should possess good mechanical skills, and be proficient at troubleshooting, updating, and repairing plant equipment. We offer a competitive pay and benefits package including Health Insurance, 401K Plan and paid PTO/Holidays.

TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assemble, erect, install and wire new crane systems.
• Perform repairs, maintenance and inspections of overhead cranes and hoists
  
• Troubleshooting to include mechanical, electrical, electronic, and hydraulic failures and determine repairs for all types of overhead cranes, jib cranes, hoists and fall protection
• Understand and learn equipment operation through training, observation, and reading operations manuals
• Develop and maintain positive customer relations
• Efficiently communicate with other plant personnel
• Input daily log/work order information into our software
• Responsible for performing all work in compliance OSHA regulations, including company and customer safety rules and procedures
  
• Perform other related duties as required

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• High school diploma or GED is required; secondary education is appreciated and will be considered when determining pay scale
• 1-2 years of experience in overhead bridge crane maintenance is preferred
• Basic welding and torching may be required
• Comprehension of machine manuals is required
• 480v 3 Phase electrical experience is required
• VFD experience is preferred
• Current driver's license is required
• Ability to work independently and have a strong work ethic
• Basic computer skills are preferred
• Must be comfortable with working at elevated heights
• Must be familiar with and willing to learn OSHA safety regulations
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching, overhead reaching, bending, squatting and be able to stand for long periods of time
• Strong organization, oral, and written communication skills
• Must be willing to work some weekends and evenings as required based on client shutdown
