Essential Job Functions:
  • Assist with the examination of the credit union’s balance sheet cash flows and business cycles to identify and monitor potential liquidity risk conditions, assess risk, and determine stress levels
  • Review the credit union’s liquidity / funding ratios to ensure sufficient funding sources are readily available.
  • Work closely with IT to ensure appropriate reports available from DNA to perform data analysis. This work may entail writing queries against sequel databases.
  • Develop reporting from all other applications that can assist with cash flow forecasting.
  • Establish relationships with the lending teams to understand funding needs and timing of member payments.
  • Using historical performance and future expectations, forecast daily cashflows for the next 12 months.
  • Provide summarized reporting and present to Director of Investments, SVP – Investments, CFO and other ALCO members that can be used for real time decision making.
  • Provide strategies to Director of Investments and SVP Investments for Investment or wholesale funding based on forecasted activity.
  • Work with members of the Finance team to ensure forecasting aligns with budget and monthly balance sheet forecast.
  • Participate in and when assigned, take the lead on special projects, presentation materials and analytic review of investments and liquidity.
  • Support the introduction of new and expansion of existing investment and liquidity products as the credit union grows and evolves.
  • Deliver complex investment and liquidity material as requested.
  • Identify process improvements to measurably improve operational efficiency and drive process simplification.
  • Provide and participate in the formalization of changes to the control framework for managing operational risk.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline.
  • Minimum one (1) year of financial services experience, preferably in the fixed income sector; or experience with SQL Server type databases. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must have sound knowledge of accounting, mathematics, and databases.
  • Ability to think and work independently to solve problems and escalate issues on a timely basis when necessary.
  • Must have keen business acumen to back core knowledge areas.
  • Demonstrate strong governance, control, and risk management behaviors.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, SQL Server, and Excel, as well as other database and presentation applications.
  • A working knowledge of Bloomberg, and investment systems is helpful.
Starting Compensation: $55,154- $67, 564, plus a competitive benefits package
