The Position:
The Claims Division is seeking a Financial Claims Staff Auditor to join the Operations Team.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the execution and the planning of standard claims financial audits
  • Review TPA SSAE18 reports for control weaknesses that would impact the planning and performance of TPA audit
  • Perform basic financial analysis of TPAs’ financial statements
  • Assist in researching state workers’ compensation laws that impact audits; e.g. compensation for permanent and temporary disability, impairment ratings, recovery of indemnity overpayments, medical benefits etc.
  • Perform reconciliations of loss data in Arch databases with loss data from the TPAs for audit preparations
  • Assist in summarizing audit results and preparing narratives for audit findings
  • Maintain a 'Receivables Balance' register for monies due from TPAs as a result of audit findings
  • Follow up on TPA audit findings for appropriate resolution

Required Skills/Experience:
  • 1-3 years audit or accounting experience; P&C insurance experience a plus
  • Ability to process electronic data and format specialized spreadsheets / reports
  • Hands-on experience and strong aptitude with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Exceptional communication (written and verbal), influencing, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills to effectively develop productive working relationships with internal/external peers and other professionals across organizational lines
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related field preferred
  • For individuals assigned or hired to work in Jersey City, New York City, and/ or Westchester County, the base salary range is $79,100.00/Yr. to $97,110.00/Yr. as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above range may be modified in the future
