Job Summary:
This position functions as part of the School of Human Ecology (SoHE) Business Office under the general direction of the Business Office Manager in processing purchasing, travel and expense reimbursement transactions. The Financial Specialist become knowledgeable in UW Madison financial policies and procedures to serve as a primary resource for SoHE faculty, staff and graduate students seeking direction, training, and problem resolution related to financial transactions, policies, and procedures. This position will become proficient in processing financial transactions using UW purchasing, reimbursement and other financial systems.

Education:
Preferred
Associate's Degree
Preferred focus in accounting or related field.
Qualifications:
- Minimum two years of experience in a professional work environment
- Experience managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines
- Experience with common business and financial processes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and other Office applications)
Preferred:
- Experience in higher education or public sector work environment
- Experience in a customer service position
- Experience with complex automated accounting systems
To be considered for the Financial Specialist II level, candidate will need to have a minimum of 2 years experience specific to this position.
Work Schedule:
40 hours per week Monday through Friday. Schedule may be able to be flexible depending on department need.

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
