Job Description

Title: Food Service Operator

Qualifications:

A high school graduate is desirable. Experience with quantity cooking is preferred. It is necessary to be able to read and understand recipes and other instructions. Must have a health card from the doctor or health department. Must be dependable and punctual. Must maintain proper hygiene habits.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Cleans and maintains kitchen equipment.
2. Uses kitchen equipment in a safe, proper, and efficient way.
3. Follow recipes and prepares all foods served by the program.
4. Cooperates ·with manager and follows through on orders.
5. Gives managers proper notice on being absent.
6. Maintains good personal hygiene, clean uniforms, and suitable shoes.
7. Helps keep kitchen, dining, and storage areas clean and orderly.
8. Maintains a good relationship with other operators, managers, students, and teachers.
9. Other duties assigned by supervisor. (These duties may include using the computer and point of sales and reconciling daily deposits.)

Essential Functions:

In addition to the physical and mental capabilities implied by the responsibilities detailed above, the essential functions of a Food Service Operator include the following: reading, writing, hearing and speaking effectively, occasionally lifting/moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, and standing for long periods of time, ability to operate standard cafeteria food service equipment.

The job of Food Service Operator involves adapting to a changing educational environment and therefore while accurate, is not exhaustive.

Period of Employment: 180 days or as needed
