Cisco Security is passionate about SIG and SASE world and our product portfolio includes the cloud delivers firewall, Web proxy, Zero Trust Proxy, NaaS integrations, and inspection services as highly available distributed systems using cloud engineering practices. We are seeking a Technical Leader who can participate in architecture design, technical requirements definition, and engineering execution. This individual will be collaborating with Executive Leadership, Product Management, and Customers.

Who You Are

You are an innovative software engineer interested in influencing the opinions and decision-making of senior executives and/or major customers on matters of significance to the organization. You are comfortable in design discussions with other architects and engineers. You can present architecture designs and solutions to multiple teams across organizations, gathering feedback that will help us drive consensus and gain alignment. You are not afraid to be creative, use innovative programming languages, technologies, and tools to drive groundbreaking new products.

What You Will Do

The Technical Leader role works alongside our VP of Security Innovation to develop the data and control plane driving our next-generation security products. This position will help identify and solve obstacles to achieving our vision.

In this role, you should expect to review existing technologies, identify areas to leverage and drive improvement, and create groundbreaking new technology from scratch. You will be part of a small team driving the next evolution of security at Cisco and beyond and must be a self-starter able to work under minimal direction.

You will be looked to both internally and externally Cisco for your expertise, and as such must be deep experience in firewalls, secure web gateways, and/or SASE/SSE. You will use this knowledge coupled with your ambition to write high-quality, production-ready code to re-invent security with us.

Required Experience:

  • BA/BS Degree and 5+ years’ experience building large scale B2B front-ends
  • 3+ years in cloud computing and security

Desired Experience:

  • Networking or security protocols (eg firewalls, secure web gateways, and/or SASE/SSE)
  • Designing, developing and deploying enterprise level front-end solutions
  • Building AI and LLM's
  • Working alongside UX/UI Design, Product and senior management
  • Working as part of a remote or distributed team
  • Full stack development experience

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
