Simms Showers, LLP is an AV rated, growing 13-attorney law firm with offices in Leesburg, Williamsburg, VA, Winchester, VA, and Baltimore, MD. We serve a wide variety of clients including numerous Christian ministries, churches, businesses and individuals throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and nationwide.
Simms Showers, LLP is currently seeking a well-qualified applicant for legal secretary/receptionist at the front desk position in our Leesburg office. The position involves being the initial point of contact for clients and others, including often giving clients their first impression of our firm. This position can be full time or part-time, but it is every day, Monday-Friday.
Front Desk Legal Secretary/Receptionist (Leesburg, VA)
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is a logical and organized individual who is able to handle a steady stream of interruptions without losing track of their other tasks. This person handles external stress well (situational and relational) and can maintain a courteous and professional demeanor under pressure. The ideal candidate should be generally outgoing and enjoy customer service and serving others. The ideal candidate is a team player, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.

Job Duties Include:
- Greeting clients and other visitors
- Answering and routing incoming calls
- Logging, sorting, and distributing incoming mail and faxes
- Receiving payments from clients and distributing receipts
- Scanning, copying, faxing documents
- Preparing mailings
- Typing and/or reviewing legal letters and documents
- Other duties as assigned by the Office Manager
Depending on a candidate’s skills, experience, and availability, this position allows for the ability to branch out into several other areas of work in addition to the duties listed above, and is a great stepping stone for moving up into a legal assistant or paralegal role with the firm in the future. When filled full-time, the position can be taken in more of a Legal Assistant direction (providing backup support to our attorneys) or an Administrative Assistant direction, (providing support to the Office Manager), depending on the interests of the employee.
The position is open for a full-time employee working 9:00am-5:30pm or 8:30am to 5:00pm or a part-time employee working 4 or more hours daily ending at 5:30pm. Pay is negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Benefits including health insurance, vacation & sick time, and retirement are included with a full-time position. 2-year minimum commitment is required.

COVID-19 considerations:
Mask mandate has been lifted, vaccination is not required. Any in-office cases of COVID, the infected quarantines for 5 days then can wear a mask for days 6-10. Employees can take in-office tests if needed and masks are provided.
