Heavy Equipment Operators in general must have experience operating but not limited to the following equipment: dozers, sweepers, excavators, graders, bucket loaders, asphalt etc. This position is also the lead painter/striper for the Fort Carson Roads and Grounds Section. The position requires the supervision and training of a paint crew of five (5). This crew generally operates at night to restripe Fort Carson from April to October.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training.
- Each complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of required experience.
- Must possess a class A CDL- no restrictions.
- Utility dig experience is desired.
- Asphalt experience is desired.
- Operation and application of street painting is desired.
- Knowledge of CDOT striping standards is desired.
Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check. May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance, including successfully completing a thorough background investigation. For positions requiring use of a Company and/or Customer vehicle, candidate must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy.
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
