Center Point Energy* is looking for a* Gas Distribution Engineer I, II, III to join our Team, located in Noblesville, IN*.
You will have the ability to apply engineering principles to design and install gas distribution facilities in a safe, efficient and practical manner. Monitors project during field installations.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Perform engineering design, calculations, estimates, studies and coordination of gas distribution facilities installations.
- Analyze load, pressure requirements, future growth and other variables during the design process.
- Oversee the layout, sizing and specification of pipeline equipment, economic justifications and indirect supervision of others when project teamwork is required.
- Create engineering drawings and effectively communicate design details to field personnel and contractors.
- Make and maintain external contacts to assure that materials, supplies and information are available as needed and that information is exchanged with external sources, agencies and local utilities online locations and planned projects.
- Prepare economic justification (concise, factual and conclusive statements of the purpose, merits and necessity) for each project proposed to assist management with evaluation of capital investment. This includes budget items and completion reports for specific construction projects.
- Review completed work orders and cost data to assure conformance with plans and acceptability of construction charges. Updates estimated unit prices as needed.
- Assist in evaluation of system operations and troubleshoots problems.
Your background includes:
- Associate Engineer
Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, or other approved engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
No prior experience required
- Gas Engineer
Requires a minimum of two years’ experience in one of the following areas, gas engineering, operations, utility design or related project construction design.
- Senior Engineer
Requires a minimum of five years’ experience in utility design or related project construction design and a Professional Engineer License.
A bonus to be:
- Able to provide a Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- Able to demonstrate and apply excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to communicate and interact with all levels of management and associates and perform well in a team environment.
- Able to represent Company in a professional manner in matters and meetings with both private and public, entities and officials.
- Able to cultivate relationships and partner with business and community contacts to achieve business results.
- Able to collaborate across functional boundaries to improve business processes.
- Able to learn and use computer and PC software, including SAP AutoCAD, Microstation, Synergi, and various other associated applications.
- Able to demonstrate effective project management and time management to meet project deadlines and remain within budget.
- Able to apply extensive knowledge of company policies and procedures and DOT CFR 192 regulations.
- Able to make sound decisions based on engineering and operational principles and Company policies.
- Able to provide and maintain a valid state driver's license and safe driving record.
- Able to demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the Company’s Ethics and Compliance Code of Conduct, and other Company policies and procedures and do so consistently, take all required training courses and do so timely.
