Job Description:

Reporting directly to the Director of Building Construction & Facility Maintenance, this position will be responsible operating heavy equipment such as tractor, dump truck, skidders and loaders as needed but have skill set and willing to be flexible and adaptable to take on other projects as needed such as: light electrical work, carpentry, and plumbing.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Specific Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Upkeep and operation of heavy equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
  • Assist in the repair of structures as needed.
  • Help plan and coordinate all installations (heat, electricity, etc) and refurbishments
  • Service, Evaluate, Repair (if feasible) sinks, toilets, and other plumbed devices.
  • Advise the director when work requiring more skill or specialized tasks is required. Work with and / or accompany service vendors as required.
  • Assure that job specified on maintenance requests and work orders and completed in a timely manner
  • Must be available during off hours for emergencies
  • Upkeep of paperwork and making sure it is all filled out properly and filed.
  • Other errands and duties and described by the Director of Building Construction & Facility Maintenance

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 2 years’ experience in use of heavy equipment
  • 2 years of working knowledge in Electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and door hardware. Trade licenses and / or relevant certificates helpful
  • High School degree or GED required
  • Must have experience loading and unloading equipment
  • Current CDL is a must
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Ability to operate tools of the trade
  • Able to work overtime as needed including emergencies and inclement weather
  • Ability to work outside and in extreme conditions
  • Must be able to work independently and / or cooperatively with others
  • Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of the job, including heavy work. Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment, as necessary.
  • Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
