Job description

The Consultant is expected to provide a monthly report to the County Real Property Tax Director showing projects completed for the month and hours worked on each project. Creation of or updates to existing GIS layers may include but are not limited to

Municipal Boundaries. :

  • Zoning
  • Tax Map Parcels/Subdivisions
  • Roads

Election Districts Other GIS work includes, but is not limited to:

  • Shapefile creation.
  • Creating new layers for Schoharie County gdb.
  • Dispatch updates from 911.
  • 911 addressing and mapping, Verizon updates, Master Street Address Guide changes.
  • Emergency services updates, Motorola CAD updates, D-Lan, emergency planning, and mass notifications.

Technical expertise to undertake day to day-to-day, recommend best practices for GIS efficiency and expansion, set up existing GIS equipment, and recommend system improvements.

  • Training for staff.
  • On-call assistance and querying of the data.

At the beginning of each contract term, the consultant shall organize a meeting with County staff to share available information and knowledge and discuss and/or confirm: the following.

  • County expectations, project requirements, and goals.
  • Distribute and discuss available and relevant information pertinent to fulfillity’s GIS needs.
  • County issues and needs with the various aspects of its GIS.

Project management and communication protocols. County Information Technology protocols and computer system security.

Annual Schedule.

Attend meetings as determined to be appropriate , including specific NIST-related security experience, within a resume or as an attachment to a resume.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $69.00 - $88.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Schoharie, NY: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • ArcGIS: 7 years (Preferred)

Work Location: In person
