Starting pay: $16 Monday-Friday

Starting time: 7:00am-3:30pm

Grounds Maintenance personnel are responsible for the maintenance and beautification of the landscape of our customers.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Assists in the routine maintenance of school’s common areas i.e., mowing, maintenance, installation, and growing of all plant material.
  • Typical tasks include but are not limited to: large and small tree pruning; watering plant material; apply pesticides and fertilizers to turf grass and plants; invasive species removal, plant installation, pine straw application, and or mulching.
  • Operates all types of small power, hand equipment, and mowers.
  • Maintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment daily, reports equipment problems or failure to the Supervisor immediately, returns all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility, fills out daily equipment check-sheets, and cleans the maintenance areas and trucks.
  • Reports any areas of the school’s conditions out of the ordinary to supervisor crew leader or manager.
  • Operates Landscape Trucks, have the ability to back a 20’ trailer, able to operate tractors, and other large equipment.
  • Observes and follows all Premiere’s safety policies and rules.
  • Driver will dive to and from each location, transporting equipment and employees.
  • Assure all equipment is on truck and secured before leaving a job site or maintenance building
  • Inspected Truck each time before moving to insure there is no loose debris or unsecure equipment
  • If truck needs to be backed up, make sure there is a spotter behind truck and is visible in your mirror before backing up.
  • Ensure that all employees are on truck before leaving a location
  • Driver will Gas truck up as needed and check all Fluid levels as needed
  • Driver will make sure that the truck is always clean.
  • Performs other duties as directed by his/her supervisor or crew leader.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of methods and materials used in grounds and landscaped area maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use hand and power tools and equipment, and the ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment.
  • Requires some knowledge of common cultural practices, identification, and removal of invasive species.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to work under supervision and solitary.
  • A pleasant attitude and customer service skills.
  • Riding on power equipment over uneven terrain.
  • Lifting object weighing up to 50 lbs. (fertilizer bags, bales of straw, debris, etc.)
  • Walking over extended distances carrying equipment that weighs more than 20 lbs. (string trimmers, edger’s, backpack blowers and sprayers)
  • Job may require repetitive motion, bending over and kneeling for extended periods.
