Job description
Front Desk Scope of work:
- Greet all customer who approach the Front Desk in a smiling, friendly manner.
- Check-in arriving guest in the most efficient manner possible, following all established procedures and policies.
- Check-out departing guests in the most efficient manner possible, following all established procedures and policies.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of hotel information including, but not limited to, room categories, room rates, packages, promotions, the local area and other general product knowledge and answer guest questions and inquiries.
- Review arriving reservations for the day early in the shift, checking for any special requests, VIP’s, etc. Pre-assign rooms as necessary.
- Pre-register groups that have requested pre-registration.
- Count cash drawer at beginning and end of each shift. Prepare shift deposit accurately, following standard procedures.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Check all guest folios during each shift, checking for potential credit issues. Authorize guest credit cards to cover expected charges.
- Record future reservations for any guests by phone or in person following standard procedures. Review sold-out dates before promising availability.
- Handle complaints efficiently and courteously. Listen carefully to guest issues and take personal responsibility to resolve their problem.
- Take each available opportunity to promote Hilton Honors and sign guests up accordingly.
- Coordinate with housekeeping on room statuses frequently throughout the day.
- Be knowledgeable about scheduled groups and meetings.
- Maintain fresh coffee in the lobby at all times.
- Answer telephone efficiently and pleasantly using correct Hampton Inn phrasing.
- Ensure all front desk activities are accomplished in a timely manner.

Experience: Hotel Front Desk: 1 year (Preferred), Computer Experience Necessary, Leadership Skills
