Job description
IntroductionGymnastics Instructors teach gymnastics skills while providing a safe environment for participants. Essential Accountabilities
Plan and teach gymnastics classes for youth while providing a safe environment and giving careful consideration to specific needs of participants.
Participant in mandatory trainings, workshops, and meetings.
Be familiar with skills and objectives of Gymnastics Program curriculum to properly prepare and execute lesson plans that follow a sequential and logical order of skill instruction.
Demonstrate skills for participants, asses and evaluate participant skills, and provide feedback for improvement.
Motivate, guide, and inspire students to help them reach their goals while providing a fun and educational atmosphere.
Follow safety guidelines and respond effectively in emergencies.
Properly set up and take down gymnastics equipment
Maintain a positive relationship with and communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisor, and gymnastics coordinator.
Maintain a professional appearance and communicate with participants and parents in a professional manner regarding program and participant specific concerns.
Direct, guide, instruct, and evaluate volunteer instructor aids according to their responsibilities and class needs.
Complete all required paperwork and reports including attendance records and report cards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Be at least 16 years of age.
At least one year of experience teaching gymnastics or at least two years of high school or college gymnastics training.
First Aid/CPR certification within six months of hire.
Physical Requirements
Stand for extended periods.
Communicate effectively in normal, loud and stressful situations.
Physically assist gymnasts
Move and/or lift materials and/or equipment typically < 40 lbs.
