THE POSITION
Candidates must have a sincere interest and desire to put forth maximum effort into his/her coaching responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

1.New Jersey Instructional Certificate or Substitute Certification with Athletic Endorsement.
2.Previous coaching experience in Basketball required. Head coaching experience preferred.
3.Will be directly responsible to the Director of Athletics and school administration for the satisfactory performance of all coaching responsibilities.
4.Will assume full responsibility for supervision and conduct of team members and for conducting necessary practice sessions and training sessions.
5.Is expected to assume full-coaching responsibilities at all scheduled games.
6.Will assume the responsibility of supervising and administering the program during practice sessions and issuing and handling of all necessary equipment.
7.Exceptional knowledge and experience in this sport.
8.Demonstrate high ethics, high expectations, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
9.Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident/immigrant status.

Director of Athletics and Student Activities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assumes responsibility for developing a comprehensive program, coordinates the operation of all teams and staff members under his/her supervision, and develops a team approach in the orientation and promotion of a sound program.
2. Requires that athletes abide by the rules of the good sportsmanship.
3. Conducts practice sessions on a regular basis and supervises assistant coaches.
4. Provides leadership in organizing and directing all aspects of the program.
5. Prepares an annual budget of authorized equipment and supplies.
6. Develops, implements, and evaluates game plans and strategies.
7. Coordinates equipment needs and is responsible for the inventory, care, and storage of equipment and the care of facilities.
8. Participates in the recruitment, assignment, and evaluation of assistant coaches.
9. Promotes the program and fosters community support by speaking to local groups and organizations.
10. Develops a relationship with staff which encourages discussions related to athlete attendance, academic achievement, eligibility to participate, and future goals.
11. Meets with the coaching staff throughout the year as necessary.
12. Establishes contacts with representatives of colleges and industries and promotes activities designed to assist athletes in achieving career goals.
13. Meets requirements outlined in the Coaches' handbook and the Coaches' Code of Conduct.
14. Conducts district meetings and participates in local, league, and state meetings as appropriate.
15. Enforces all local, conference, and state rules of eligibility.
16. Exhibits loyalty and support for colleagues, athletes and school policies.
17. Assumes other responsibilities delegated by the immediate supervisor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT Stipend Position - 3-4 Months depending on sport

Salary as per the SOMEA Agreement
