Job description

We are seeking a talented and experienced head host/maitre'd to join our team at our fine dining Japanese restaurant, Sushiko Chevy Chase. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Japanese cuisine and culture, as well as a strong background in hospitality and customer service.

Pay is $17/per-hour to $25/per-hour depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

Greet guests and ensure they receive a warm welcome upon arrival
Manage the reservation system and ensure all bookings are handled efficiently and accurately
Oversee the seating process and ensure guests are seated promptly and in accordance with their preferences
Monitor the dining room and ensure guests are receiving exceptional service throughout their meal
Work closely with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure smooth coordination of food and beverage service
Handle any guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and grace
Train and mentor junior hosts/hostesses on best practices for guest service and hospitality

Qualifications:

3 years of experience in a high-end hospitality environment, preferably in a fine dining restaurant
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
A passion for Japanese cuisine and culture is strongly preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to lead a team and mentor junior staff members
