- Education – One or more of the following:
- Associates Degree OR
- 60+ credit hours from a degree granting college/university; OR
- High school diploma with successful passage of the ETS Paraprofessional Assessment or former Work Keys Test
- CPR and First Aid certification (training provided)
- Successful experience working with children of all ages
- Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office programs, Google and willingness to learn new technology
- Excellent communication (verbal, written and listening) skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Maintain and adhere to student confidentiality
- Ability to maintain a welcoming and safe environment for students
- Administer first aid to injured students and provide short-term care to enhance the comfort and safety of injured or ill students
- Administer and record medications in accordance with District policy and State and Federal law
- Maintain health forms and other-related documentation
- May need to provide and/or assist in the individualized health and/or physical needs of students, with proper training, such as toileting or other personal care needs
- Will need to provide non-instructional health and behavior support of student as outlined in IEP, including toileting and personal care needs
- Facilitate sending ill or injured students home or to appropriate facilities
- Assist office with basic clerical needs including but not limited to data entry, answering phones/door,
- Independently answer routine questions and correspondence from parents, staff and students not requiring the Building Administrator’s attention
- Greet and assist visitors
- Assist in before, during, and after school supervision, as needed
- Other duties as assigned by the Building Administrator

NATURE OF POSITION
The primary responsibility of the Healthcare Paraprofessional/Clerk is to provide the daily health/services to students in the office which may comprise of basic first aid, prescribed medical care, administering medications, assisting students with illnesses, etc. The Paraprofessional will also provide general office and building support including but not limited to answering phones and doors, greeting and assisting visitors, data entry, mail, and supervising students before, during or after school for bus transitions, hallways, lunchroom or playground, as needed.
