BayCare is currently in search of our newest Histologist to join the laboratory team who is passionate about providing outstanding patient care and customer service to the community we serve!

We are looking to fill a Histologist position in the Lab at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, Florida.

Title: Histologist

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all phases of tissue processing from fixation to final slide, including special stains and techniques.
• Maintains all files, records and documentation required by state and federal licensing boards.
• Cleans and maintains equipment, and instruments.
• Stocks and maintains supplies.
• Works independently and in a team.
• Demonstrate organizational, time management, interpersonal, written, and verbal skills.
• Use computer skills appropriate to position.
• Needs to use and understand medical terminology.
• Other duties as assigned.

Certification & Licensure:

• State of Florida Histology License required
• ASCP preferred

Education:

• High School or Equivalent required
• Technical Degree in Histotechnology preferred.
• Associates in Related Field preferred

Experience:

• 1 Year Laboratory Related required
• 2 Years Histology Experience preferred
