Iris Memory Care of Turtle Creek is hiring for a full-time housekeeper. This is a benefits eligible position.
Iris Memory Care is a small assisted living community specializing in the care of individuals living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. We are conveniently located in downtown Dallas near I35E and Dallas North Tollway off of Oaklawn Ave. We are an age-in-place community, and our residents live with us through end of life.
We are looking for a full-time housekeeper, 40 hours per week. Preference will be given to those with experience in assisted living, specifically memory care.

Specific Responsibilities:
Ensures completion of all housekeeping and laundry tasks. Assumes responsibility for general cleanliness of the building. Monitors needed janitorial and maintenance work.
Primary Essential Job Duties:
- Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a home-like environment for Residents.
- Monitors inventory of chemicals, supplies, and equipment needed for laundry and housekeeping tasks, as directed.
- Communicates chemical, supply, and equipment needs to the Maintenance Director and/or Executive Director.
- Maintains required records; notifies the Maintenance Director on observed maintenance issues and/or repairs needed.
- Follows cleaning schedules of Resident suites, laundry, kitchen, and common areas to ensure completion of housekeeping tasks.
- Provides laundry services as needed and/or directed.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
- Observes problems, concerns, and issues observed with Resident suites, IRIS, and the grounds and communicates them appropriately.
- Observes changes in Resident status, needs, or preferences and communicates them appropriately.
- Observes other problems and communicates them appropriately.
- Adheres to all established policies and procedures.
- Observes all work, safety, and administrative policy training in performing all job assignments.
- Records Resident information as required.
- Avoids loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, work, safety, and other emergencies.
- Trains IRIS Team Members on the systems, equipment use, housekeeping, and cleaning standards to include chemical usage, as assigned.
- Adheres to OSHA and local health department requirements in safety and training of IRIS Team Members.
- Attends in-service training as required.
- Maintains the Confidentiality/HIPAA requirements.
- Reports all suspicions of abuse, neglect, and/or financial exploitations of a Resident immediately to the supervisor, as described in the IRIS policy and procedures on reporting.
- Maintains and protects the confidentiality of resident information at all times.
Job Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of equipment, supplies, and chemicals used for housekeeping and laundry tasks in public use buildings.
- Experience in working in a licensed care setting preferred.
- Twelve (12) plus years of education preferred.
- Meet continuing education requirements and certifications on job classification and position, including state requirements, as applicable.
- Willingness to adhere to assisted living principles in providing services.
- Ability to communicate and work with all levels of IRIS Team Members and IRIS Department Managers effectively.
- Maintains acceptable attendance record/follows work schedule.
- Organizes and utilizes time appropriately toward accomplishing assigned tasks; requires minimal supervision.
- Displays cleanliness, good grooming, and personal appearance and follows dress requirements.
- Displays ability/willingness to learn new skills and to teach others.
- Ability to recognize and communicate problems appropriately.
- Ability to relate to the public, Residents, families, IRIS Team Members, and other professionals appropriately.
- Ability/willingness to follow policy and procedures and state regulations.
- Ability to communicate proficiently in English, verbally and in writing.
- Provide annual verification of a negative TB skin test.
- Ability to recognize and communicate problems appropriately.
- Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergencies.
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet requirements of the job.
- Ability to work safely and to recognize potentially dangerous situations.
- Is neat, accurate, and dependable and keeps work space clean.
- Displays willingness to assist co-works when situation requires.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally; 35 pounds regularly.
- Routinely requires pushing, pulling, bending, walking, reaching, and stooping.
- Ability to organize their time, follow-up with the ability to perform job tasks efficiently.
- Maintains car in good working order, current drivers license in good standing, and auto insurance meeting company minimums is current.
- Ability to teach/train others effectively.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- Demonstrates as a team player with a positive attitude; able to work with IRIS Team Members and IRIS ownership/management staff.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and provide information as requested and required.
