Job description
Oversees execution of human resources policies and programs, which may include general onboarding, training and career development, employee relations, compensation, and ancillary benefits. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including EEO, FMLA, and FLSA. Assists leaders in the application of HR programs to departmental operations. Answers associate and candidate questions about HR policies and offerings.
Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR concepts and principles
- Guides all levels of management through employee relations matters
- Primarily focused on administering established policies and procedures but may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change
- Maintains records and compiles reports concerning team member-related data
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with team members and leaders
- Oversees all employee relations issues and investigations, including corrective action and performance counseling
- Partner with leaders to coach and counsel team members as needed
- Keeps current with federal, state and local HR laws, policies and procedures for all Portfolio companies
- Ensures diversity, inclusion and an open/equitable work environment for all team members related to programs, policies and procedures
- Leads audit activities such as I-9, background checks, and other compliance items.
- Ensures consistent on-boarding process for all new team members. Acts as point person for Ashford Inc.'s various Portfolio Companies
- Partners with leadership on executing annual review process for corporate entities
- Conducts exit interviews with departing associates
- Manages associate recognition programs and community outreach initiatives
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, or Business-Related Field
- 2- 3 years in a Corporate Environment – Highly Preferred
- Five Plus Years of HR Generalist Experience
- Genuine Relationship Building and Interpersonal Skills at All Organization Levels
- Advanced Communication and Presentation Skills
- SHRM-CP or PHR Certification - Preferred
