We are seeking an experienced Import Specialist to join our growing VA team at Fracht USA! Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Arrange deliveries of customer’s freight via LTL/truckload shipments or container drayage, utilizing our partner carriers
  • Assists customers with the importation of shipments from overseas, whether as their Customs broker (customs entries, ISF filings) or as the forwarding agent (AMS filings, doc transfers) on their shipments.
  • Arranges import shipments for our customers with partner agents overseas.
  • Assists customers with general inquiries regarding status updates, rate quotes, and delivery estimates.
  • Communicating with the steamship lines regarding charges due, and dates of importance.
  • Classifies items on import shipments and identifying when additional information is needed for entries (i.e., PGA info, ADD/CVD, etc.)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • 2-3 years’ experience in Imports and custom brokerage.
  • Successful completion of high school, or equivalent, plus additional job-related coursework or specialized training.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products and Accounting software(s) programs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.Outlook)
  • CargoWise experience preferred
