The Industrial Security Department (A212) is seeking a Industrial Security Specialist to join our team located at MITRE in Bedford, MA. A212, a member of the Global Security Services Division, partners with internal and external customers to manage security risks and advance MITRE’s mission by aligning solutions with business needs and delivering value. The group efficiently and consistently applies resources to mitigate risk across operational domains through a continuum of security administration standards, control strategies, and oversight levels that align with corporate expectations and risk tolerance.
The Industrial Security Specialist will perform compliance audits of MITRE’s 22 cleared sites to ensure compliance with MITRE Security Policies and 32 CFR Part 117, National Industrial Security Program
Operating Manual (NISPOM). These audits will be used to ensure full compliance with MITRE Security Policies and the NISPOM and develop best practices across the enterprise. Incumbent must have expert knowledge of government security policies, procedures, and regulations to develop a strategy for overall program protection which includes OPSEC, CI, Physical, Personnel and IT security support; while managing the development, implementation, and audit of overall security posture. Deliver and collaborate with security stakeholders, multiple MITRE Project Leaders while acting as liaison to sustain security requirements.
This position will
- ensure compliance with established security requirements and identify potential corrective actions to improve and enhance security operations.
- be responsible for security policy interpretation and ensuring MITRE Security policies are aligned to the NISPOM.
- be required to develop statics and matrixes to identify common trends and help develop solid solutions.
Required Experience:
Possess in-depth knowledge and demonstrated experience with the New NISPOM, A current SSBI adjudicated to Top Secret eligibility.. Additionally, the incumbent must also have the following demonstrated abilities:
- Experience as an FSO or Asst FSO.
- Knowledge of the various security disciplines such as Physical, Personnel, IT, and CI.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Possess exceptional customer service skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Working knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft and security databases.
- AA degree with 3+ years of professional experience working with Industrial Security programs. Relevant experience may be substituted for degree.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Joint Staff (JS) and other DoD agencies’ security process and implementation requirements; regarding clearances, Program Security, and Physical Security clearance requirements. Technical field experience including 5 years at the Specialist level or the equivalent in job-relevant work experience. Excellent organizational and communications skills, and the ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels.
