This position is at a very successful independent interior design retail showroom, in business over 25 years.
We are located near the towns of Linwood, Egg Harbor Township, Northfield, Ventnor, Margate and Longport New Jersey. We are the go to design firm in the area for furnitire and entire interior design projects
Designer must have extensive work history in the INTERIOR DESIGN industry.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Designs interior spaces, including permanent architectural details
- Assesses and meets client requirements and desires through regular meetings and conferences
- Produces sketches, drawings, and floor plans to illustrate concepts and finished projects using computer-aided design programs (CAD) and hand-drawing skills
- Creates idea boards to communicate design concepts to clients
- Maintained a knowledge of sales, promotions, store policies, and business practices. Our customers are always satisfied.
- Prepare sales orders and evaluate pricing with purchasing coordinator.
- Provided customers with timely and accurate information as related to product specifics, pricing.
- Greet and develop relationship with potential customers that visit our amazing showroom.
- Researched and presented information on features and benefits of products.
- Worked diligently in a fast pace environment while taking care of multiple clients at a time.
- Coordinated furniture floor plans and accessories with color schemes.
- Kept and updated a clientele book with customer contact information
- Provided customer assistance on selections and design
- Work with purchasing coordinator to price product and cusomer service manager regarding total cusomer satisfaction.
- Assisted customers with choosing decorative home décor and furnishings
- Demonstrated the ability to interact as a team member by communicating effectively with co-workers for customer satisfaction
- Establishes project timelines and coordinates work activity, vendor involvement, and outside contractors as necessary
- Reads and interprets blueprints
- Works closely with various colleagues, including architects, artists, contractors, painters, upholsterers, and building inspectors
- Participates in regular networking opportunities and actively develops a client base
- Performs research and maintains a working knowledge of trends and new developments in the interior design and architecture worlds

What You Should Have:
A minimum of 2-4 years Interior Design experience (with Sales / Furniture Retail experience strongly preferred)
Please make sure your work history or professional abilities meet these ideal requirements.
We strive to be very flexible with schedules, however - working on weekends is required at times for client meetings.
