Greenville Federal Credit Union is currently recruiting for an Internal Auditor

This position is responsible for performing ongoing reviews of the credit union's internal control system and consulting with senior management to improve internal controls and the efficiency of operating procedures and effectiveness to ensure compliance with policies and regulations. Compiles and issues reports detailing the conclusion of reviews, including recommendations for improvements. Assess risks, findings, and recommendations of outside auditors and National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) examiners and changes in policies and regulations to prioritize audit coverage effectively. Develops and maintains the annual audit risk assessment, audit programs, and audit plan for all credit union activities. Investigates and report on any allegations, suspicions, or activities related to fraud committed by any employee. Additional responsibilities include developing and presenting findings, conclusions, recommendations and preparing written reports. Communicates audit results to the supervisory committee, management, and board of directors. Conducts follow-up inspections or reviews as necessary. Performs such audit functions as balancing, reconciling, verifying, sampling, evaluating, reviewing, and confirming loans, shares, cash, and overall branch security. Ensures compliance with the credit union's bylaws, policies and procedures, and state and federal regulations.

Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, financial, audit, or compliance, preferably in the financial industry; a minimum education level of a Bachelor's Degree. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Candidates must possess experience designing, testing, and implementing new procedures for performing controls/compliance/audit functions and writing routine reports and correspondence. Experience and knowledge understanding national audit standards, risk management, internal controls, and governance processes. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate, advanced understanding of financial terms, conditions, and reports and deliver on commitments in a highly results-oriented environment.

After initial training, this position may work a hybrid in the office and at-home schedule.
