About our Company: The Yuppie Pup LLC has been open since 2016. We only care for small breed dogs under 30lbs. We are a boutique style boarding facility with 12 suites, two indoor play spaces, a potty yard, and a large play yard. We have won, "Best of the Valley" in Pet Boarding in 2022, 2019, & 2018. While our pups might be little, they are full of personality!!

Though it may seem as if we play with cute pups all day, (and sure, that’s part of it) we are really glorified housekeepers and dog behavioral managers. A kennel assistant cannot be afraid to get dirty! (And…also love giving pups lots of attention.)

• Looking 18 & over, and able to work weekends, good with dogs and great customer service skills is a must!!!

Kennel Assistant Duties

• Cleaning and disinfecting boarding rooms and all other areas of the facility
• General care for the dogs, including feeding, watering, medicating, socializing, laundry, and the occasional kennel baths
• Checking clients in and out for their boarding stay
• Keeping yards picked up and the facility clean throughout the day
• Taking charge to make sure all tasks get completed correctly and in a timely manner
• Other miscellaneous duties to keep the facility working smoothly and the dogs calm, happy & safe

Requirements

• Patient, with genuine compassion, concern, and respect for animals
• Dependable with a strong work ethic. This is a small shop and you must be able to work well with us & be confident working independently as well.
• Be able to communicate clearly with clients
• Be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Be physically capable to work on your feet for long hours, and able to bend, stoop, twist, etc. repetitively
• Be willing to work with dogs that may be scared/timid, and remain calm under stressful situations (such as a dog fight, medical emergency, or injury) We do not take pups that are aggressive toward humans.
• Have reliable transportation. You must be able to make it into work on poor weather days.
• Previous animal handling experience and knowledge is a plus but not required. A teachable attitude is required!
